CURRENT SERVICES

Facility Day Hab

Individuals receiving Facility Day Hab (FDH) attend services via the Smeltzer Educational Center, which is run by Greater Etowah. The individuals in FDH typically attend five hours a day, Monday through Friday. Individuals work on improving and/or learning, self-help skills, work-related skill, socialization skills, etc.

Community Day Hab

Individuals receiving Community Day Hab (CDH) arrive at the Smeltzer Educational Center in the morning, but then head into the community for services. Individuals using CDH services explore various avenues of subjects, as they build relationships with community people. Various trainings occur in the community, based on the needs and/or desires of the individuals. Once finished, they return to the Smeltzer Educational Center to prep for leaving in the afternoon to return home.

Community Experience

Individuals receiving Community Experience (CE) are picked up from their homes and returned when the day is finished. The people receiving services via the CE model are working on building additional relationships in the community and exploring more about potentially working, volunteering, helping their neighborhood, or learning about new ideas or adventures within the community. CE is strictly a community based model of service.

Residential Services

Residential services from Greater Etowah are provided by a subcontractor in Etowah County. The organization providing our residential services is Integrity Homes. Integrity Homes has provided services to this area for many years.
