DAVID r. NICHOLS



EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR





With going on 28 years working for Greater Etowah/Smeltzer Educational Center, David Nichols, who has a BS in Behavioral Psychology from JSU, has spent the majority of his professional life working to help people. As his time in the field is drawing to a close, he continues to help prepare the Greater Etowah staff for the challenges of providing services in the future and how different the service models will be, especially in comparison to services when he first started in the field. Mr. Nichols also continues to work with Providers across the State of Alabama to help them transition to the next phase of service delivery.



STEPHANIE GIBSON



EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR-ELECT





With over 14 years of service in the field of Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Ms. Gibson, with her BS from the University of Alabama, has worked as a Certified Targeted Case Manager, (CTCM) and as a Responsible Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional, (R-/QIDP). Since 2018, she has served as the Program Director for Greater Etowah. Her next move will be to take over the duties of being the Executive Director of Greater Etowah on January 1, 2023. As the field of Mental Health continues to change, Ms. Gibson looks forward to leading Greater Etowah into its next chapter of service for those with intellectual disabilities.



aLICIA HUNTER



PROGRAM DIRECTOR





Ms. Hunter began working for Greater Etowah in April of 2020. She has a BS in Behavioral Science from Athens State University, and she has over 12 years of experience in day and residential services. On April 1, 2022, she took over the duties of being the Program Director for Greater Etowah.
